MPA Society's Meridian Village Enhanced Supported Housing Program offers unique services and supports to individuals living with mental health challenges

by | Oct 18, 2010
Fraser Health in partnership with the Health Authorities Shared Services Organization, Tri-Cities Mental Health and Addictions Team and Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation has awarded the Meridian Village contract to MPA Society.
Located in Port Coquitlam, the Meridian Village Enhanced Supported Housing program will provide housing, supports and services for 30 individuals. This creative and newly developed enhanced supported housing program will provide support and services to both those living at Meridian Village apartment complex and those identified individuals living in the community.

MPA Society recognizes that through understanding and implementing the principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery, an environment of trust, respect, dignity and self-direction we can support people on their path to recovery from mental health challenges. This new enhanced supportive housing program fills a gap in services currently available to people living with mental health challenges and provides an alternative model that will promote independence, self-confidence and healthy living.

The Meridian Village Enhanced Supported Housing  program, scheduled to begin services on December 1st, 2010, will be structured to support program participants in achieving health and wellness through participation in community, educational, recreational and vocational programming both on-site and in the community.

As a future focused health organization, MPA Society is excited to expand on our partnerships with Fraser Health and the Health Authorities Shared Services Organization, Tri-Cities Mental Health and Addictions Team and Vancouver Metro Housing Corporation.
