In order to live in one of our homes or to access our supported independent living (SIL) or SOLO program, you need to be referred either through the Coordinated Access Process (VCH Mental Health Housing & BC Housing partnership), a mental health team, or the BC Housing Supported Housing Registry. Those agencies process all of the applications and then refer people to the various programs being offered around the city by various non-profit organizations, including MPA.

Unfortunately, there is a very long waiting list, as there is a lot of demand for housing support. We recommend applying in-person to the BC Housing Orange Hall office located at 297 E Hastings to ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly; if you have already applied, please follow-up every three months to ensure your application is kept active.
MPA also has a Resource Centre, located at 2275 Fir Street (at 7th Avenue) in Vancouver. This is a drop-in centre for adults with mental health challenges. At the centre, we offer a combination of practical support (shower, laundry, food support, etc.) and recreational activities, both in-house and through outings. Membership is free and the space and staff are supportive and welcoming.

MPA programs are available to people who live with mental illness. While Membership is not a requirement for participation and acceptance in programs, all program participants that meet eligibility requirements for membership are encouraged to become Members.
There is no cost for Membership.
Membership implies both connection and responsibility. Members have created expectations of conduct for attendees to follow, ensuring the peaceful enjoyment and safety for everyone accessing our services.
Individuals wishing to become Members must be able to demonstrate, that at some time, they have received psychiatric treatment and are over the age of nineteen. They may be asked to provide a contact that can verify that they are eligible for Membership of the MPA Society.
In addition, they are asked to agree to honour the Mission, Vision and Philosophy and to uphold the Bylaws and Constitution of the MPA Society.

100% of every dollar donated goes directly to service.
MPA Society is tremendously grateful to our donors and supporters. We understand that our donors may have a special relationship or loyalty to a particular program. To that end, we make every effort to honor our donors’ requests for directing their donation to support a particular program. These donated funds are directed to supporting non-funded program activities or equipment that enhance our members’ experiences and activities.
MPA Society also receives general funding dollars. These monies are directed to programs where the opportunity to either leverage the donation occurs or the largest number of Members can be served.
Finally, during capital campaigns, MPA Society may receive donations that are directed towards a special capital project, such as the purchase of a building, the development of a commercial kitchen, or purchase of a vehicle. In this case, donations are usually directed in support of the campaign goals.
If this is an emergency, please call 911.
