Goals
To provide short-stay mental health programming and services to residents in a supportive and empowering environment.
Winston Manor serves and supports 2 important areas in the mental health community. The program provides respite for people living in the community for up to 30 days. This service allows people and their extended support networks to address issues which may be affecting the maintenance and improvement of their physical and mental health.
Secondly, four transition unit beds are provided for the hospital step-down diversion program which supports people in transitioning back to their home from hospital. Individuals who are ready for discharge from hospital, but may not feel ready to move back home can stay at Winston Manor to assist in the transition back home.
This program also serves to divert individuals who may not necessarily require hospital services to utilize the programs at Winston Manor. Winston Manor is seen as a vital resource in Vancouver that addresses people’s mental health challenges outside of the hospital environment.
